Full shade corner

The brief on this garden space was to transform a gloomy and dark corner into a peaceful place to sit in the shade.

Gravel and rocks were repurposed to create a small seating space where plants will blur the edges to create a peaceful feeling of sitting within the planting. The site receives no direct sunlight, so all plants have been carefully selected to thrive in these shady conditions and provide visual interest in every season. Larger shrubs create an evergreen framework while lighter grasses and ferns add a more delicate touch. Geraniums provide colour from summer through autumn and some modern trellises will allow climbers to eventually screen the shed from view while sitting in this serene haven.

Conor transformed this neglected area of my garden with lots of imaginative planting. I am so pleased with it I have asked him to design a wildlife pond for my middle bed which I'm very excited for!
